چکیده
We cloned and sequenced full-length peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRP)-like cDNAs, named PS PGRP-SA(a)-like, PGRP-SA(b)-like, PGRP-SB1-like PGRP-SC-like, from Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis. The amino acid sequences of PGRPs share 32.03-47.93% homology with those PGRP family members in insects mammals, including humans. identified a conserved consensus sequence for amidase activity (His; H-Tyr; Y-His; H-Thr; T-Cys; C) residues binding (PGN), one the major bacterial cell wall components, Asp (D) Phe (F) Lys-type PGN; Gly(G), Trp (W) Arg (R) DAP-type PGN. topological structures PGRP-SA(b)-like PGRP-SC-like proteins are structurally similar to Drosophila melanogaster PGRP-SA, which has three α-helices six β-strands. β-strands located central region helix α1 on back peripheral α2 α3 helices front. also present PGRP-SB1-like, but structure differs that typical PGRP. Significantly increased levels PGRP-SA (a)-like (b)-like mRNA were recorded when Gram-positive bacteria or yeast cells injected into larvae. up-regulated by infection all pathogens; however, expression was 20- 30-fold only shortly after injection Gram-negative bacteria.

Identification of Immunity-Related Genes in the Larvae of Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis (Coleoptera: Cetoniidae) by a Next-Generation Sequencing-Based Transcriptome Analysis
To identify immune-related genes in the larvae of white-spotted flower chafers, next-generation sequencing was conducted with an Illumina HiSeq2000, resulting in 100 million cDNA reads with sequence information from over 10 billion base pairs (bp) and >50× transcriptome coverage. A subset of 77,336 contigs was created, and ∼35,532 sequences matched entries against the NCBI nonredundant database...
متن کاملCharacterization of the Hemocytes in Larvae of Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis: Involvement of Granulocyte-Mediated Phagocytosis
Hemocytes are key players in the immune response against pathogens in insects. However, the hemocyte types and their functions in the white-spotted flower chafers, Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis (Kolbe), are not known. In this study, we used various microscopes, molecular probes, and flow cytometric analyses to characterize the hemocytes in P. brevitarsis seulensis. The circulating hemocytes w...

A total of 48 different volatile oils were identified form P. brevitarsis larvae by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). Acids (48.67%) were detected as the major group in P. brevitarsis larvae comprising the largest proportion of the volatile compounds, followed by esters (19.84%), hydrocarbons (18.90%), alcohols (8.37%), miscellaneous (1.71%), aldehydes (1.35%) and terpenes (1.16%). ...

Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis (Kolbe) has been temporarily registered as a food material by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of Korea (MFDS). The current study aimed to discover small antithrombotic molecules from this edible insect. Five indole alkaloids, 5-hydroxyindolin-2-one (1), (1R,3S)-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-β-carboline-3-carboxylic acid (2), (1S,3S)-1-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro...

To explore the interaction of gut microbes and the host immune system, bacteria were isolated from the gut of Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis larvae. Chryseobacterium sp., Bacillus subtilis, Arthrobacter arilaitensis, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacillus megaterium, and Lysinibacillus xylanilyticus were cultured in vitro, identified, and injected in the hemocoel of P. brevitarsis seulensis larv...
